The local FBI must have wondered why the Dumbledorf God turned the Hogwarts Magicians out into the world of Muggles. My best guess is that it was needed to make sure that the Muggles stop trying to resurrect Vordemort from the dead in their end of the world fantasy dreams.
Trying to kidnap a Hogwarts student in order to bring them to Vordemort justice can have serious consequences for those who are willing try to die in an unconventional manner.
